Archiving Policy
Digital Preservation & Archiving Policy
Securing Permanent Access to Scholarly Records
The EPH International Journal of Medical and Health Science (IJMHS) is dedicated to the perpetual safeguarding of its published research. We utilize a redundant, multi-tier archiving strategy to ensure that our scholarly contributions remain available to the global scientific community indefinitely, regardless of technical disruptions or organizational changes.
1. Digital Archival Protocol
Our systematic preservation framework is built to maintain the security, longevity, and discoverability of all medical and health research.
- • Automated PKP PN Integration: Every article is automatically harvested by the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) upon publication. This creates a decentralized, independent backup that protects content from server failures, cyber threats, or accidental data loss.
- • Preservation of the Version of Record: Our archiving process captures the original, finalized publication format. This ensures the historical integrity of the research, protecting it from unauthorized modifications over time.
2. Infrastructure & Technical Security
We utilize robust digital architecture to prevent data degradation and ensure high availability of our archives.
Backup and Compatibility Standards:
- System Redundancy: We perform daily incremental and full weekly backups to secure, off-site cloud environments.
- Future-Proofing: Content is curated in PDF and XML formats. These are regularly monitored for "format obsolescence" to ensure they remain readable by future software and hardware.
3. Long-Term Reliability
By adhering to international digital preservation standards, IJMHS meets the strict archiving requirements of global indexing services and abstracting databases.
4. Journal Cessation Plan
In the event that the journal ceases its operations, the archives stored within the PKP PN will be triggered for public open access.
5. Commitment Statement
The EPH International Journal of Medical and Health Science recognizes its responsibility to the scientific community. Our investment in premium archival infrastructure ensures that the medical breakthroughs and health studies we publish today remain accessible for generations to come.
